the ending of this book was a sad ending but which is also logic. I would say that: the ending is good for both Denial and Ti-M. The peasants are peasants, live or died. Which is unfair but also proved the class different could not been overcome with and even Denial never side he love Ti-M or not. In the little island the peasant was living in another world that was totally different then the rich live in. Those two world are the opposite of each other that shall not get together. The ending was realistic, a story which end in the two people ignore the class difference and get together may happened in the real world but most of them interrupt and injured in the big disagreement form the society. Ti Moune was a poor peasent girl who thought she was the favorite of the gods only because she saved by the god once. When she saved by the god she misunderstood the mercy of the god as a gift which give her the right to wish God helped her with anything. She had wish to get ride of this peasent life and become some one rich and have a good life which was not possible at that time. She thought the boy she saved have to love her because the god will help her. And the rich seen her as a animal, as a peat. We may blame the gods cruelness but they were simply doing what they told so and what they should do. They are not reasonable to make the world to a better place but keep every thing balance. Honestly, at first I feel this character was a pure girl who only rich for her love, but now I could tell she is not. What she want was everything and she instead of fight for them but ask the god to solve everything. I like the ending, it was real, and it was something should happened. 

I could not tell what lesson the book teach us. Should we change our life no matter it cost or should we live with it. By the past of history the peasent will stand and fight someday and ripe the wealth form the rich and use the word Liberty. But as a poor girl what could she done? I assume this is a story about some one who wish to fight their destiny but filled. They should not undermine their dream, that was true but are all the dreams lead to the good? Not really.

In the musical was as same as the book although the musical would not have many details as the book. So the musical use three point to creat Ti Moune as a character. The butterflies which means the wish that she want to be free and not have a poor life. The wish of love that she could be love the man who she really loved not as a present but as a equal man. And the third thing was her different form other villagers which made her special in difference way which like she wants her own life. 

Her wish to be free was simple by the butterflies that appear in different characters most of the time those butterflies was in a cage which means that the free live was just her wish. In the musical she also use words which like "let me fly" to pare to the gods which let people connected with the butterflies in the age and her wish was simple, let her free. 

She was a poor present girl who fall in love with Daniel. That love was totally can not understand by both rich and the poor. The only group that could understand that kind of love I assume those are gods. In the musical she use many words about her love and pery to god let her love who every she want. 

in the song named 'one small girl'. This song was about the the Ti Moune and her relationship with her presents. Which was her present still thought that her as a small girl. That difference shows a lot in the book when she talk to her dad. Although the Ti Moune is mutual in many ways but those not only her presents but also other poors always assume that she is a small girl who need care form the village or others. Which also shows that other villagers did not understand what she was doing and that was her different form other villagers.

If you were to stage this novel as a play, how would you costume Desiree in order to show her as a member of the peasant village yet also an outsider, a dreamer who longs for something different? Would you show any connections to the God or the the rich and if so, how? Explain your answer.

If I could stage this novel as a play I would costume Ti-Moun as a normal peasant who never dress something colorful, all her shirt should have the color like blue and black and as a peasant girl her cloth should be ragged but clean cloth and she would have big react when she saw something which like beautiful clothing or other thing that they do not own any or ever saw any as a peasant. And she should disagree the logic form both the poor and the rich.

The rich should dress in normal suit to show that they were rich then those peasant and they earned their place by their wisdom so they should not dress some thing that fancy because fancy suit would make them seem like they are stupid. The god should wear simple then the peasant, they should wear robe with only one color which make they could hide in city or they village.

Primitive religion

When the first time I read this book, I could not see any connection with little mermaid because I never seen the little mermaid.

The gods in the book <My love My love> was control four different area. Earth, Water, Love and Death. Which was almost everything that this plant need to survive although love was not nessurary in most of time. The plant was made by the earth and water, those two gods was the earth it self who crate every thing.Asaka should be a female who was beautiful enough to let the god of water love her, she was like the Gaia in Greek who shall be the mother of everything that alive on the earth so she should have a beautiful long black hair and always have plants around her but those plant shall never appear on her cloth. Annual should be a male god who have bad temper but because they were in the middle of the sea so he was also important, we could according to Poseidon in Greek myth but he shall not be an fish man or some thing in the sea because that he is the water it self which was pure and clean. Those two gods seem like who was in control with the nature and the plant. So for those two gods I will simple use the color which represent the water and earth which was blue and black to show what they was control and what was their scope. 

The love and death was different then the water adn earth, water and earth was the sign of this plant it self which should be the nature that not alive. Love should be the humanity part that human use in the daily life no matter to love others or themselves. And death is a problem all living thing that need to face, their life span, how long they shall live and when it stop. When we came to live, we have to face death, it shall not be a bad thing that depart us form each other but maybe an release to their lives which will give them chance to end everything they want or hate. So the god with death shall be more hopeful then the death we seen in the daily life, it should not wear all black and hold an sickle to took someone’s life but a simple sign of the “end” which should not have any emotion in it. I will put the god of death in white to show that he is the end of all lives but also is an whole new beginning for everything. So he is not evil, not bad or hopeless, he is pure, pure death.

The godness of love was an totally different story, she is not an very powerful god because not any creature know how to love and even they know they may choose not to. So the god of love should show that she is weaker then other three gods because she was not strong enough and effective enough. I will put the god of love in red which show the passionate when people get in love. 

So for the once in my time I reread the story of <the little mermaid> and understand that what I have missed during my childhood. I hope <the little mermaid> could help me better understand the book.
